Welcome to the MTM! | Monday, March 15th from 5-6pm Pacific Time | Register here
Come join the Executive Director of the MTM program, Michael O’Donnell, as he welcomes admitted students to the MTM Class of 2022. He’ll provide some logistics about the program, the project selection process, and life in the Bay Area. Some current students will also be on the call, so bring your questions! We will record this event and share it with anyone who registers.

Happy Hour Mixer | Monday, March 29th from 5-6pm Pacific Time | Register here
Grab your favorite beverage and come get to know your future cohort at this casual happy hour mixer. We’ll be meeting on a really cool online platform called OhYay which has different room themes and games/activities built in. We’ll invite current MTM students and alumni to join too, so it’s also a great opportunity to network with the broader MTM community.
Office Hours with MTM Students | March 9th – March 19th | Schedule here
Schedule a one-on-one session with one of our current MTM students to learn more about their experience in the program. These student ambassadors have included their LinkedIn profiles on the calendar events so you can learn a bit more about them before scheduling a meeting. We ask that each person only schedule one 30-minute meeting to ensure everyone can take advantage of this opportunity.

We treat glue-ear, a common and costly disease in children, which is currently managed by surgery, with an affordable, effective, and easy-to-use medical device.
Netic Health | Wednesday, March 31 from 12-12:30pm Pacific Time
Netic Health is a digital care platform for physical health. We provide one on one physical therapy through an online platform that allows for personalized and immediate treatment.
Melio | Wednesday, March 31 from 1:15-1:45pm Pacific Time
Melio is committed to democratizing testing for infectious disease. If anything, the COVID-19 pandemic is a reminder that rapid and accurate testing is crucial for targeted treatment, infection control, and mitigation efforts, which we have been building towards at Melio. Melio has developed a low-cost, universal platform to detect common pathogens and antibiotic resistance signatures directly from a patient sample in under 3 hours by machine learning and digital melt analysis.

Dr. Syed Hossainy presents — Renal Dialysis: Access, Current Art, and Clinical Need
Come join us for this Faculty Spotlight Lecture exclusively for admitted master’s students! We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Syed Hossainy, a UC Berkeley Professor who led all aspects of controlled technology research for drug eluting stents (DES) at Abbott Vascular for nearly 20 years, including the development of XIENCE, the world’s leading DES which is widely considered to be the gold standard therapy with over 10 million implants over 15 years of clinical use data. As head of Abbott Vascular’s innovation incubator, Dr. Hossainy also led the development of the first ever drug eluting Bioabsorbable Vascular Scaffold (BVS) for peripheral vasculature, resulting in the successful Clinical Evaluation of Abbott Vascular’s ESPRIT BVS.
Dr. Hossainy is listed as an inventor in 375 issued U.S. patents and over 450 U.S. patents pending in the areas of cardiovascular and soft tissue implants, drug delivery, and biomaterials technology. He is currently the CSO at Imperative Care, and teaches Clinical Need-Based Therapy Solutions (BIOENG 252) at UC Berkeley.
